Meet the Teachers!

Hello! To everyone who is a longtime member of this community, to everyone who has just joined us, and to those who would like to! My name is Montana and I am the founder of The Montana Method, which was created officially in 2016, but has really been in the works since I completed my Classical Pilates training in 2009. We offer classes in our South Florida studio and on livestream seven days a week—and I couldn’t do it alone, so I’d like to introduce you to the team!

Though my Pilates training is the foundation of all my classes, I also taught various barre methods, which is where I found how music really drives me—I’ve always put my own spin and energy into my classes. After I had my second child, I took a pause, but found I was craving community and movement—and I decided to turn my garage into a studio. It was almost an underground community, sweating and moving together in our tiny, unfinished space, but it lit my soul up—and The Montana Method was born!

When The Montana Method outgrew the garage, I knew I had something special. I rented space at other studios—until the pandemic hit. I pivoted to free online classes, and livestreamed on Facebook every day from my friend’s backyard. It kept me going, and even more surprising, it grew the The Montana Method community internationally! I couldn’t believe people from Italy, Dubai, and Spain were tuning in to move with me.

I rode the wave and opened my flagship studio two years ago in the heart of Delray Beach, Florida, where I live with my family. I now have five fitness instructors in Delray, and between us we teach 21 classes every week to a full studio and livestreamers around the world!

MEET LOUIS

It’s honestly no wonder why Louis Scriven fills the studio every class with everyone wanting more. His energy, his expertise, his sing along songs, and him calling you out to go harder makes us all laugh and bust our to the max. He won’t let you get away without being your best and he will make you enjoy it the whole time you’re with him.

Louis is a true Tramp & Tone king known for his sprinting and twerking, mixed in with his love of Pilates and what it does for the body (odyody, if you know you know!). Louis’s Pilates Fusion is truly a master class. He’s been with me from the very first day I opened my studio, and we all still can’t get enough.

MEET CAITLIN

Caitlin Goldman has been with me since the garage days. I met her when she worked at lululemon and I taught barre at Flywheel. I took her yoga classes and they were the only ones I resonated with because of her flow and her playlists. She started working out in my garage with me and she was so good at The Montana Method, I asked if she would ever want to teach. The rest is history.

Caitlin teaches The Montana Method and Yoga. Her classes are hardcore and she will get you in the best shape of your life. She is so knowledgeable about the body, and she guides you the whole time. Plus, she loves hip hop just as much as I do. Her livestream classes are so popular. We sauna and cold plunge together and make up The Montana Method content in her garage now, so it’s come full circle. Caitlin is a badass who loves to have pets, makes pork and pies in the early morning hours, knows more random facts that anyone I know. And takes her sleep more seriously than I do!

MEET JESS

Have you seen her moves?! Jessica Steinlauf is a former ballerina and gymnast and has taught fitness, Pilates, and yoga for more than 15 years. You can tell in her classes how strong and creative she is. When she came to my class in 2021, I noticed her right away and had to have her part of the MM team! Not only is she the most flexible person I know (check out her Instagram) but she also puts together some amazing retreats; her next one is in Belize.

MEET COURTENAY

Courtenay Kanell truly walks the walk. I admire so much about her as an instructor, lover of all things health and wellness, and mom of three (yes three) girls! I met Courtenay in 2021 when a friend of hers brought her to the studio after just moving to Delray Beach from Connecticut. We started chatting and she told me she was having a hard time finding a studio she liked. And after taking my class she felt like she found where she finally belonged, which made me so happy!

Of course I jumped on the opportunity to see if my studio would be a good fit for her to share her talent and love of movement with us. Honestly, once I heard her playlist—I had to have her! Courtenay teaches Tramp & Tone, The Montana Method, and The Mashup. She is the one of the kindest, warm-hearted people I know- but don’t don’t let that fool you, she will also kick your 🍑 in class in the best way!

MEET SHELBY

When Shelby Albo started coming to The Montana Method, she had recently moved to Florida from New Jersey. I can recognize a dancer’s toe point or moves in my class easily, so I had a feeling this was part of her background, and I was curious to hear more. I learned Shelby moved to Australia after college to pursue a dance career—and how well versed she is in movement, having taught everything from trampoline classes to barre!

Shelby started taking my class regularly and always showed up with enough enthusiasm and energy to fill the entire room. I’m very particular about our instructors at The Montana Method, and knew Shelby could take it on! She is the newest member on our team, but feels like she’s been with us for a while. Her Tramp & Tone classes are a party. She’s a team player and dedicated to her craft. When you love teaching movement, it’s a passion that you carve out time for because it fills you up. When she’s not at the studio, Shelby works as a luxury travel consultant planning trips and exploring the world. And she’s also a mom. She’s like the Energizer Bunny, with a smile as big as her heart.
