Q & A With Montana

Montana Globerman at the beach

The Montana Method opened in Delray Beach, Florida, in 2019- but Montana Globerman has taught fitness for fifteen years. Her Method incorporates her many years of experience teaching Pilates, barre, yoga, and dance. She’s a South Florida native, and when she’s not teaching fitness or empowering women, she is relaxing at the beach or on the sidelines watching her two kids play soccer.

The Montana Method has drawn a following from not only Florida but all over the world. Her Delray Beach studio is now a destination for her livestream community, and for people who follow her on Instagram, TikTok, and Spotify. People call The Montana Method a “big-city workout with a small-town vibe.” In this blog post, we’ll learn more about The Montana Method, and all about Montana.

Montana, What Initially Inspired You to Become a Fitness Instructor?

Fitness was always a part of my parents’ daily routine. My mom is a Pilates instructor. I never believed that working out should feel like a chore. That’s why I developed The Montana Method. I took what excited me and made me feel alive, and developed it into a music-driven, full-body workout that’s always fun and evolving.

The Montana Method is a full-body workout that incorporates Pilates and barre as well as dance and yoga. The first studio was my garage! But I quickly outgrew it, and I opened my studio in downtown Delray Beach about three years ago. The Montana Method now has classes in the studio and via livestream seven days a week!

Is It True That Your Digital Studio Grew Out of The Covid Lockdown?

It’s true! I would do Facebook and Instagram Live classes in my friend’s backyard, and started gaining traction and followers. During the pandemic, we all still needed community, and everyone joining in was fulfilling that for me. There’s something about a live class, even virtually, that’s so uplifting. I put a lot of energy into my playlists, and I apologize in advance for singing along 😊 I also upload all of my playlists to Spotify— you can always email me if you have any requests!

What Did You Think Was Missing From the Boutique Fitness Studio World in South Florida When You Founded The Montana Method?

In the past, fitness studios never felt as joyful as I wanted them to feel. The Montana Method is a very welcoming studio, and the workout (though it’s challenging!) is accessible to beginners and advanced students alike.

How Does the Music Support the Movement in The Montana Method Workout?

The Montana Method sculpts your body through targeted but fluid movements, and sequences using light weights and repetition. The compound movements reduce the risk of burnout and injury. The music and the flow together take you out of your head, so you can be fully in your body, in the moment. You’ll sweat, but you will feel great.

Is The Montana Method Similar to Pilates?

I’m trained in classical Pilates, and I believe that the core is the foundation of all movement. But The Montana Method is not strictly a Pilates class. It does help with balance, strength, and stress reduction.

The Montana Method is a full-body workout. You will develop long, lean lines that are feminine and strong. People think you have to be a dancer to do the class, but you don’t! You just have to have an open mind. It never gets easier, but you will get better at it.

Is The Montana Method a Cardio Workout?

We’re using every muscle in the body to manipulate and flow through the moves. We’re standing, moving around the room, doing mat work. Your heart rate will be up and down throughout the workout. The Montana Method incorporates cardio boosts; The Mashup does as well, as you change levels using the chair. Dance Cardio and Tramp & Tone are our most cardio-forward workouts.

You Say That The Montana Method is More Than Fitness; it’s a Movement. How Does This Workout Help You in Your Daily Life, Off The Mat?

When you think that you cannot do something, and then you achieve it, you find an inner strength. It empowers you physically and mentally. Being part of a community is important for women. It’s the collective energy that we build in the room. It lifts everyone.

What’s Next in 2023 For The Montana Method?

The Montana Method is expanding its class schedule both in the studio and livestream. We are finalizing our teacher training program. We hope to do some weekend pop-ups in places like LA, NYC, and Toronto. It’s always been a dream to do a Montana Method retreat— so stay tuned!

Find your inner strength with The Montana Method. Experience the magic that is felt as you sculpt your body while lifting your spirits!
